NORTH OF IRELAND CAIRN TERRIER CH.SHOW.
LARNE,21/2/03
An average entry
for this show somewhat spoiled by absentees.Nice to see the club attracting new
exhibitors, one of whom,Mrs.Dalzell, presented beautiful bouquets to the
principle winners.
Based on this entry,it would seem movement is not getting better.Few dogs were
what I would call perfectly sound.
Dog C.C. and Best
in Show,Cameron’s Ch.Stryveling Ivanhoe.Well known red brindle now at his peak.Strong
male head,’tho to be very critical,I would like him a little shorter in
muzzle.Good neck running in to well placed shoulders.Very good top line and
tail set.Good length of loin with strong quarters and good bend of
stifle.Correct length of leg to back makes him balanced.Good coat of correct
texture, can move a little close behind until he settles.Eye catching showman.A
top quality dog at his peak and could not be denied his place today.
R.C.C and R.B.I.S.
Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Loaded Dice.Attractive grey brindle who must be a joy
to show, never lets up.Good dark eye, good neck running into well placed
shoulders, level top line which he retains on the move, beautifully
balanced.Would like him a little stronger in stifle. Coat of good quality and
well presented.Still has some maturing to do,and that counted in the challenge.
Bitch C.C. Waugh’s
Andrum Carlotta.Lovely feminine head with correct dark eye, good clean
neck, correct shoulder placement, good top line, enough spring of rib for a
bitch.Good hind quarters with well turned stifle.O.K. for coat. Well balanced.
R.C.C.Munday’s
Stradivarious Sonata,Top quality grey brindle, very good feminine head and
expression,enough neck,deep well sprung ribs, moved o.k.,correct coat,.and
showed well.I would prefer her a shade longer in back, and she musn’t be allowed
to gain weight.
Minor puppy dog. 2
1st.Forbes’
Eglish Twilight Breeze,smart red,decent head,enough neck,well sprung ribs,good
top line,o.k.for coat.Front movement could be better but has time on his side.
2nd.Alexander’s
Duke Simon William Edgar, red, smaller than 1st. with some maturing to
do.Shorter in back than I like consequently could be better balanced.
Puppy dog,1
Parker-Tucker’s
Uniquecottage Rusty Leaf,light wheaten,nice dark eye,enough neck,top line
o.k.determined not to co-operate with his handler which made movement difficult
to assess.Needs a new jacket.Best puppy dog.
Junior dog 4
1st.Cloverbrook
Loaded Dice.
2nd.Berrecloth’s
Sybster Sophora,Grey brindle,good dark eye,enough neck,well placed shoulders.
Good turn of stifle.Moved o.k..Not the heaviest boned dog on show,in no way
helped by lack of coat at strategic places.Dipped behind his shoulders today which I’m sure a new coat would
improve.
3d.Dalzell’s Kenmillto
Jez.
Maiden dog, 1
1st.Duke
Samuel William Edgar.

2nd.Forbes’
Marsh Stewart Charles, shown in good condition, enough neck, well sprung ribs,
level top, failed in rear movement to 1st.and ear placement could be
better.
3d.Sybster
Sophora.
Post
Graduate dog, 4(2)
1st.Deneland
Just William.
2nd.Dean’s
Orior Sea Rover,smart red,head could be a little stronger for a male,also a
little more neck would improve the picture.Well bodied and good top line, steady
show man.
Limit dog, 4 (2)
1st.Parker
–Tucker’s Uniquecottage Tidy Shoes, grey brindle, strong male head, very good
neck and shoulders, level back retained on the move, good bend of stifle.Moved
o.k. and showed well.Did not dismiss him lightly in the challenge.
2nd.Towers
Rossarden Laphroag,Dark brindle,very typical,nice expression,shown in good coat
and condition.Preferred neck and shoulders of 1st.

Ivanhoe.
2nd.Hogarty’s
Int.Ch.Ir.Ch.Cadagio Talk of the Town,Grey brindle,on his toes,good head,level
top line retained on the move.Correct coat, good spring of rib, showed all out.To
be very critical, while he is by no means “bitchy”I would like a little more of
him for a male.
3d.Burton’s
Minorcas I’m No Mug.
Veteran Dog Or Bitch, 7(3)
1st.Parker-Tucker’s
Ch.Uniquecottage Bright Gold ,Red dog of top quality, retains most of his
virtues from his younger days.Good head, well bodied,in very good coat and
condition, presentation could not be faulted.Looked the champion he is.Not out
of place in the challenge.
2nd.Goud’s
Davmar Viking Arrow, red dog,in very good coat and condition, still has a good
top line and can move well.

2nd.Dalzell’s
Pharaoh’sGold. Wheaten with lots to like, badly needs ring training and to
improve in front action.Has time on her side.
Puppy Bitch,6
1st.Latto’s
Pinetop Gabrielle,wheaten,very smart,shows like a veteran,feminine head,good
neck and shoulders, level back retained on the move.good hindquarters with well
turned stifle. In good coat and condition, moved o.k..Best puppy in show.
2nd.Dockry’s
Glenrood Magic Dreamer,Red,similar to first in many respects,Pleasing feminine
head, good neck and shoulders, good quality coat, showed very well for her
handler.Unlucky to meet 1st.Should have a bright future.
3d.Towers’
Deneland Rhona.
Junior

1st.Shaw’s
Honeyhall Headway, very stylish grey brindle, lovely feminine head giving typical
cairn expression.Good neck and shoulders, level top line, well sprung ribs.good
coat, and in good condition.Co-operates well with her handler.Front action let
her down today and this helped peg her back in the challenge
2nd.`Hogarty’s
Cadagio Tia Maria,Typical head,in good coat, well bodied.Would like her to have
a little more neck, and length of leg.Steady show girl.
3d.Skeltons
Craivan Dawn Diva.
Maiden Bitch 4
1st.Dowling’s
Black Rod Holly Orchid,Very typical dark brindle, nice head with correct

better,Showed well for her handler in this class.

Minorcas I’m Sweet
Novice 5
1st.Black
Rod Holly Orchid.
2nd.Towers
Deneland Rhona,wheaten,in good coat,pleasing head,well bodied,handles well on
the table.Lost her top line on the move and was a little lethargic today.Looked
as if she was out for a gentle Sunday stroll.
3d.Coulter’s
Craigycor Red Pepper.
Graduate Bitch 5 (4)
1st.Alexander’s
Jumping for Joy,Wheaten,stood alone,typical head,decent spring of rib,handles
well on the table.Showed well and moved o.k.
Post graduate Bitch,5 (4)
1st.Goud’s
Beanoak Scatter the Mud,Grey brindle with lots to like.Pleasing head enough
neck o.k.for shoulder placement.Level top retained on the move.Would like her
to put in a little more effort. Showed o.k.,but got the impression she is one
of those bitches who do enough and no more.Perhaps being alone in this class
did not do her any favours.
Limit Bitch 7(3)
1st.Waugh’s
Andrum Carlotta,
2nd.Stradivarios
Sonata.
